FRIENDS SMALL MUSEUMS COMMITTEE:

The Mission of the USFFM Small Museums Committee

  • As the arts curriculum is being cut from local school budgets all over the United States, USFFM believes that museums can assume a unique role in our society by bringing families of different cultural backgrounds and economic classes together, and providing young people with a creative way of thinking, USFFM is committed to assisting small museums in this endeavor.
  • We are implementing a grant program to stimulate the interest of young people in their museums and in their cultural heritage through educational activities. As the program progresses, an exchange of information will be developed in our U.S. museums and, internationally, with our colleagues in the World Federation of Friends of Museums.
